Normally, IPL matches are played in the month of April and May. Earlier, it was estimated that the IPL 2022 may start from either end of March 2022 or starting of April 2022. The BCCI has declared the official IPL 2022 Schedule dates on 6th March 2022. As per the rules, the board first releases the schedule dates after the completion of the auction and after the teams have declared their final list of players for the game.

The declaration of the IPL 2022 schedule dates has taken some time because there will be an increased number of matches due to the introduction of new teams in the current season of IPL. This has also increased the number of days that season will last and it is also confirmed that now IPL Season 15 will last for more than 70 days.

As per the schedule released by the officials, it is now confirmed that Mumbai and Pune will be the venue for all the matches of IPL 2022 or IPL Season 15.
