What is TRP?

TRP is a measurement to measure and evaluate the viewership of any television serial. It is basically a tool through which the team of the serial understands how much the serial is getting popular among the viewers. Today, most television serials are telecasted several times of the day. So, the TRP also helps in checking that how many times the audience is watching the serial throughout the day. How is TRP Calculated?

The Broadcast Audience Research Council that is also known as BARC in the abbreviation is responsible for the calculation of TRP. BARC has installed a tool that is known as BAR-O-meter, in order to calculate the TRPs. These meters are now installed in as many as 45,000 different impaneled households.

These meters are responsible for recording data about all the serials and channels that are being watched by the members of the selected households. This method of recording such data from random people is also called People meters. Recently, another method known as the picture meters is also being used to collect such data.

Based on data that is being captured from all the selected households, the final TRP of different serials and channels are calculated by the council. These final TRP calculations are revealed on a weekly basis and the actual TRP of the week comes out every Thursday.

Highest TRP Show in India of Week-31

Calculating the last few weeks TRP ratings of different serials and channels, the highest TRP show in India is currently Anupama that is telecasted on Star Plus and Star Utsav. Viewers and fans also watch the serial on Hotstar.

Directed by Romesh Kalra, this serial is all about women’s empowerment. The main character Anupama on which the name of the serial has been also kept is a strong woman is an example of every Indian woman. She leaves her dreams and ambitions to focus on her family post marriage and devotes herself to raising her kids and taking care of her family. But later on, when she notices that she is not being offered legitimate credit for all her sacrifices and her efforts, she makes a big decision to follow her dreams in life once again.

Rupali Ganguly is the main character of the serial who plays the role of Anupama. Other important characters of the serial are Gaurav Khanna, Madalsa Sharma, and Sudhanshu Pandey.

This week Anupama has earned a TRP rating of 3.2 and once again it is the number one show in the country. Just after the serial Anupama, another trending serial that has been also attracting the attention of the viewers is Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin which has earned a TRP of 2.4 this week and has been positioned at number 2 just after a long time by beating Khatron Ke Khiladi S12.
